Amber Harville is
Amber Harville is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Intern specializing in working with children and families. I earned my Master’s in Educational Psychology from the University of Houston in May 2013 and spent my practicum and internship in a private child psychology practice as well as training as a play therapist at a non-profit preschool. I am also currently continuing my training in order to become a Registered Play Therapist. I received my undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin before becoming a wife and mother of four beautiful children. I have experience in counseling children from early childhood to adolescence, using a combination of play therapy techniques. I enjoy working with children who are facing a variety of issues including ADHD, anxiety, divorce reaction, developmental delays and those on the Autism spectrum. I also work with parents to help them discover more effective ways of interacting with their children.
I feel that parenthood is both the greatest joy and the biggest challenge most of us will ever undertake in life. As a therapist I hope to encourage and empower parents to work through difficult situations with their children and to help them learn more about the incredible healing power of play.
